Favorite Series

I will be adding some of my favorite series that I have enjoyed reading to this page in the upcoming days. If you have a favorite series feel free to tell me about them. I am always looking for new books even though I have a to be read list a mile long. I guess that is the addiction to books.

The Virgin River Series by Robyn Carr is one of my all time favorite series that I am enjoying reading. Here is a link to Robyn's website to take a look at the books. Virgin River Series

The Cupcake Bakery Mystery Series by Jenn McKinlay is a new series that I have started reading and I have really been enjoying it. Please check out Jenn's website to take a look at the books. Jenn McKinlay's website

If it is historical fiction you enjoy with a little time travel mixed in then check out the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. I fell in love with Jamie and Claire from the first book. I look forward to each new book that she writes. Here is the link to Diana Gabaldon's website. Diana Gabladon's website

One of my childhood favorites is the Little House on the Prairie series. I have loved Laura Ingalls Wilder for a long time. She is one of my idols. I think everyone should read her series sometime in her life. Here is a link to Laura's books.  Little House on the Prairie Books

Another childhood favorite of mine was Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. I liked the feisty red-haired Anne and how she talks about kindred spirits. Here is a link to L.M. Montgomery's books. Anne of Green Gables books

  1. The first series I would like to mention is The Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon.

Here is a blurb about this series for you:
The year is 1945. Claire Randall is traveling with her husband when she touches a boulder in one of the ancient stone circles that dot the British Isles. Suddenly she is hurled back in time to a Scotland torn by war and raiding border clans in the year of our Lord 1743. Catapulted into the intrigues of lairds and spies that may threaten her life, she soon realizes that an alliance with James Fraser, a gallant young Scots warrior, might be the only way to survive. Thus begins a work of unrivaled storytelling that has become a modern classic. - This is courtsey of www.amazon.com

Here is the order in which you should read these books:
    OUTLANDER
    DRAGONFLY IN AMBER
    VOYAGER
    DRUMS OF AUTUMN
    THE FIERY CROSS
A BREATH OF SNOW AND ASHES
    AN ECHO IN THE BONE

Please don't be scared by the size of these books as you will be sucked into them in no time. You will be wishing you could have your "own" Jamie by the time you are done with the first book.

I hope you take the time to try this series

  2. The next series I would like to tell you about is The Virgin River Series by Robyn Carr.

Here is a blurb about the series for you: WANTED: MIDWIFE/NURSE PRACTITIONER IN VIRGIN RIVER. POPULATION SIX HUNDRED. MAKE A DIFFERENCE AGAINST A BACKDROP OF TOWERING CALIFORNIA REDWOODS AND CRYSTAL-CLEAR RIVERS. RENT-FREE CABIN INCLUDED.

When the recently widowed Melinda Monroe sees this ad she quickly decides that the remote mountain town of Virgin River might be the perfect place to escape her heartache, and to reenergize the nursing career she loves. But her high hopes are dashed within an hour of arriving: the cabin is a dump, the roads are treacherous and the local doctor wants nothing to do with her. Realizing she's made a huge mistake, Mel decides to leave town the following morning.

But a tiny baby, abandoned on a front porch, changes her plans-and a former marine cements them into place.

Melinda Monroe may have come to Virgin River looking for escape, but instead she finds her home. - This blurb is courtesy of www.amazon.com
