My thoughts:
I was lucky enough to get to read this historical fiction by new to me author Keely Brooke Keith. I enjoyed getting to know each of the characters in this book. It was nice how they were all so close and leaned on each other getting ready for their long voyage and change in their life. Jonah did not want to go to South America and had every intention of bowing out and then due to an accident he decides that he should go on the voyage. The voyage was a little stressful to say the least. The author did such a good job in describing it that I could almost feel the waves and the sea water hitting me in the face. I can't imagine the feelings when they got lost at sea. In those days there was no coast guard to rescue you. With all the danger, emotions, and adventure you will not want to put this book down.
