Some LIke It Scottish by Patience Griffin - Review

Published: July 7, 2015
Number of pages: 352
Genre: Romance
Series: Kilts and Quilts #3

Synopsis:
In the delightful new Kilts and Quilts novel by the author of To Scotland with Love and Meet Me in Scotland, the Real Men of Scotland are waiting. And it’s a match made in Gandiegow…

Kit Woodhouse’s matchmaking business is such a success, she’s expanding to the Highlands of Scotland where the hot, prosperous, and kilted are anxious to connect. Now, looking to fill her stable with eligible bachelors, Kit’s arrived in Gandiegow to recruit potential Real Men of Scotland. It’s not until she meets her tour guide that she discovers just how real they can be.

With his sexy grin, jeans, and black wellies, Ramsay Armstrong is an unpolished hulk of a Scottish fisherman—and a skeptic when it comes to romance. Not exactly a man of “pairing attributes” when talking marriageable matches, but he does make Kit’s heart beat a little faster. Maybe it’s the scent of the sea in his hair. Maybe it’s the challenge. Maybe it’s the thrill of the unexpected. Then again, maybe it’s love.

My thoughts:
With each new installment in this series I like it more and more. I love getting to visit the quaint little town of Gandigow again. Kit was a favorite character of mine from the first page. I felt so bad for her throughout the whole book. Here she is carrying the load of supporting her family after the death of her father and nothing is going right. Then you have Ramsey who is causing some of the issues and you can understand why. He of course is another favorite character of mine. Deydie is a person I can't get enough of. She is so gruff and rough but you know she does it because she is protective her town and loved ones. I like what she did for Kit - I can't say what it is or I will spoil it. This author has a way of choking me up in parts and that does not happen a lot to me. If you are looking for a great series to fall in love with then I suggest you give this one a try.

About the author:
Award-winning author Patience Griffin has been sewing her whole life but didn’t discover her love of quilting until her late thirties. She decided the best way to acquire her first quilt was to make one for herself. At nearly the same time, she started commuting three and half hours a day for her dream engineering job. To pass the time on the long drive, she got hooked on audiobooks—especially books with love stories. Within a couple of years, she was writing stories of her own. It was no surprise to her family and friends when she combined her love of quilting, her small town roots, and her obsession with Scottish romances into novels. She has gained some recognition with her September 11th Story Quilt which has toured the country as the property of the Pentagon. Her first book, To Scotland with Love, received a Publishers Weekly *starred reviewed, won the New England Readers’ Choice award and Golden Quill for best first book and was also a double RITA® finalist. Patience’s Kilts and Quilts series takes place in small town Scotland and set around a group of quilters. She loves to write about home, heart, and community.
