Will her personal life ever be as simple as unveiling a murderer?

Meet the author - Avery Daniels
Avery Daniels was born and raised in Colorado, graduated from college with a degree in business administration and has worked in fortune 500 companies and Department of Defense her entire life. Her most eventful job was apartment management for 352 units (plenty of fodder for stories there!). She still resides in Colorado with two brother black cats as her loving companions. She volunteers for a cat shelter, enjoys scrapbooking and card making, photography, and painting in watercolor and acrylic. She inherited a love for reading from her mother and grandmother and grew up talking about books and history at the dinner table. Her first try at writing a fully developed story was as a teen was a tale of a girl trying to nurse a fawn back to health and then release it into the wild again. She is plotting her next Resort to Murder novel and struggling over which Colorado resort should be her setting.

Hello, I'm Julienne. First I want to thank you for having me here today. You have a great blog.

I am the lead character in the new cozy book series, Resort to Murder, with the first novel – ICED. I'm your typical young professional trying to get my career moving. I'm in the on-the-job management training position for a luxury resort in Colorado Springs. I have always wanted to travel the world and I plan on managing resorts around the world - if everything goes to plan.

I’m not used to all of the attention, especially since Pastor Tom Drake was killed. He was shoved on the spear end of a swordfish ice sculpture within a few minutes of getting grabby and I kneed him…hard. Of course, that murder of Pastor Tom during a luncheon event I coordinated threw a gargantuan wrench in my plans. I became the prime suspect. I don't mean to over-share here, but suffice to say that my life changed significantly the day Pastor Tom was killed.

Even though it sounds like my life is pretty perfect…except for that whole Pastor Tom murder ordeal. But, don’t be fooled. I have plenty of issues going on in addition to being under suspicion of murder. My father has one plan for my future, then my boyfriend has his own ideas – problem is, they never consulted me. On top of my being a murder suspect, family expectations and pressure, my boyfriend springing his detailed plans on me, I have a new neighbor that my best friend refers to as tall, dark, and yummy who seems interested in me. Suddenly, my life is far too complicated.

I never thought of the (cough) deceased as a big deal since he started in his garage. Everyone in town knows him as just Pastor Tom. I know he grew his congregation over several years until it had a membership of over ten thousand. But, I never expected him to be drunk, let alone grab my…butt. Then, during my trying to clear my name I found out about his weakness for teen girls. Thanks to a neighbor I was tipped off about his swinger activities. That was a shock all right.

Well, I certainly got chatty. That’s not like me normally. But then nothing has been normal lately. If you would like to read about all the details, you can find the book at these links.

Well I’m done talking about myself. Since I work in luxury surroundings, maybe you can share your favorite luxury you like to indulge in. A deluxe spa treatment, favorite or special vacation spot, or maybe its satin sheets or pajamas? Come on…confess.

  1. I consider it a luxury when I get to spend the whole day reading without any interruptions or distractions. Unfortunately, it doesn't happen often enough.
