Book description
Leaving behind a failed career as a magazine editor and an embarrassing stint on a reality baking show, newly divorced lifestyle entrepreneur Hope Early thought things were finally on the upswing—until she comes face-to-face with a murderer . . .Hope’s schedule is already jam packed with recipe testing and shameless plugs for her food blog as she rushes off to attend a spring garden tour in the charming town of Jefferson, Connecticut. Unfortunately, it isn’t the perfectly arranged potted plants that grab her attention—it’s the bloody body of reviled real estate agent Peaches McCoy . . .
One of the tour guests committed murder, and all eyes are on Hope’s older sister, Claire Dixon—who, at best, saw Peaches as a professional rival. And suspicions really heat up when another murder occurs the following night. Now, with two messy murders shaking Jefferson and all evidence pointing to Claire, Hope must set aside her burgeoning brand to prove her sister’s innocence. But the closer she gets to the truth, the closer she gets to a killer intent on making sure her life goes permanently out of style . . .
Includes Recipes from Hope’s Kitchen!
Meet the author - Debra Sennefelder
Debra Sennefelder, the author of the Food Blogger Mystery series and the Resale Boutique Mystery series, is an avid reader who reads across a range of genres, but mystery fiction is her obsession. Her interest in people and relationships is channeled into her novels against a backdrop of crime and mystery. When she’s not reading, she enjoys cooking and baking and as a former food blogger, she is constantly taking photographs of her food. Yeah, she’s that person. Born and raised in New York City, she now lives and writes in Connecticut with her family. She’s worked in pre-hospital care, retail and publishing. Her writing companions are her adorable and slightly spoiled Shih-Tzus, Susie and Billy. She is a member of Sisters in Crime, International Thriller Writers, Women's Fiction Writers Association and Romance Writers of America.

My thoughts
I really enjoyed this first book in this new series. It was fun to get to know the new characters especially Hope. The garden party at author Audrey Bloom's home sounds like a nice time if you forget about the dead person. I also liked learning about all the things Hope is doing for her blog. The author did a good job of making me think I had everything figured out with the killer then up comes a twist. She did a good of keeping me guessing. This makes for a good mystery for me. I am looking forward to the next book in this series and hope I don't have to wait long.

Thank you for review and infromation on "The Uninvited Corpse" by Debra Sennefelder as well as being part of the book tour. I enjoyed reading the Meet the Author because I enjoy learning more about the people that write the books. I'd love the opportunity to read this book.
ReplyDeleteSince it's very close to Easter, I'd have to say that one of my favorite recipes is the Three Day Coconut Cake my Mom made when we were growing up. Now that Mom's gone to her heavenly home, when I make it then all the sweet memories come rushng back of great times and wonderful cake. Here's the recipe. It's super easy to make and what I love is it can be made ahead of time to leave you free to do the hundred of other things that always need to be done. :)
Three Day Coconut Cake
Ingredients
1 box of Duncan Hines Butter Cake mix
3 pkgs of the fresh frozen coconut (freezer section at WalMart) thawed
8 ounces of sour cream
2 cups sugar
Directions
Prepare cake mix according to package directions.
Recipe calls for 3 layers – this gal used the 9 X 13” pan and then just split the cooled cake into two layers.
Cool 10 minutes and then cool on racks.
While cake is baking make the icing.
Mix the sour cream and sugar stirring until sugar dissolves – DO NOT BEAT.
Then stir in the thawed coconut and place in refrigerator until ready to ice cake.
When cake has cooled spread icing onto cake already on cake plate that has a sealed cover like Tupperware. Top with layer(s) and finish icing. Cover with lid, seal and place in refrigerator for a minimum of three day before eating. I check once a day and if any liquid comes off cake I spoon back to top of cake.
After three days, you will never know there is sour cream in the icing and it’s the best moistest cake you will eat. It will just continue to get better. It will never dry out. The longer it sits the better it gets IF you can have it last long enough to find that out. It also freezes very well.

My favorite recipe is one passed down by my great-grandmother for beef goulash. It's just beef, onions and spices.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite recipe is for my grandma's blonde brownies. They never turn out as good as hers tho.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite recipe is my Mom's Corn Salad. It's just canned corn (drained), green pepper and onions with a dressing of miracle whip with cream and sugar to taste. It's very refreshing.
ReplyDelete"Do you have a favorite recipe or food? If so what is it?" I like fried shrimp! I could happily eat nothing but fried shrimp for the rest of my life!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite recipe is a kielbasa cajun alfredo I've spent the last few years perfecting. It's a house favorite!
ReplyDeleteA favorite recipe would be Czech potato dumplings which were always served at holiday meals.
ReplyDeleteIn the winter, our favorite food is White Chicken Chili.
ReplyDeleteI like making my grandmother's ginger cookie recipe.
