Thread End by Amanda Lee

I received this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Thread End by Amanda Lee
An Embroidery Mystery #7
ISBN: 9780451467393
Mass Market Paperback

Synopsis: Embroidery shop owner Marcy Singer is about to have the rug pulled out from under her....

Marcy can’t wait to see the new exhibit at the Tallulah Falls museum on antique tapestries and textiles, including beautiful kilim rugs. But her enthusiasm quickly turns to terror when, the day after the exhibition opens, she discovers a dead body behind her store, the Seven-Year Stitch, wrapped up in a most unusual fashion.

The victim appears to be a visiting art professor in town for the exhibit. Did someone decide to teach the professor a lesson, then attempt to sweep the evidence under the rug? Along with her boyfriend, Detective Ted Nash, Marcy must unravel an intricate tapestry of deception to find a desperate killer.

My review: This actually the first book that I have read in this series. I was able to follow along just fine but now will be going back to catch up on the rest of the series as I really enjoyed this book. The characters in this book were fun to get to know and of course I loved the little town and who can forget the dog. I really enjoyed the embroidery theme of this book even though I can not embroider myself. It had all the makings of a good cozy mystery, small town, fun characters, and a mystery that our main character who gets tied up in it all to try and solve the murder. I think the author did a good job of keeping me guessing until the end. I will be looking forward to the next book in the series and in going back to enjoy the beginning.

  15. I've always considered needlework and thread crafts to be art work. Such beautiful pieces have different kinds of talented artists. Gayle Trent is a talented artist of the word!! Can't wait to read this book!! Ronnalord(at)msn(dot)com

    2. Thank you, Ronna! I consider needlework and thread crafts to be art as well. And when it's an heirloom passed down by a family member, it just seems to link every generation together.

  19. I haven't read any of the books in the Marcy Singer/embroidery series but I have read most of the books in other series written by Gayle (Amanda). I've read 2/3 Myrtle Crumb and 4/4 Daphne Martin/cake decorating and really love them, the DM series especially. So I have a feeling I'd also really like the Marcy books and look forward to trying them

  29. I had received another book in the series, Thread on Arrival, from an internet giveaway last year some time. Still, it took me a few beats to realize this book was part of that series. When the brain cells actually started working that day were they ever HAPPY! Thread End was one of the first cozies I ever read. It helped fuel my love of the genre.
