Putting on the Witch by Joyce and Jim Lavene - Review and Giveaway

I received this book in exchange for a fair and honest review

Published: October 4, 2016
Number of pages: 304
Genre: Cozy Mystery
Series: Retired Witches #3

With their coven’s spell book still missing, Molly and Elsie—along with their ghostly friend Olivia, her daughter Dorothy, and her boyfriend Brian—are all on edge, especially now that Dorothy’s infamously wicked father is back in the picture. So when they receive an invitation to an exclusive Witches Ball, the ladies jump at the chance to dress up and have some fun.

The castle locale is spectacular and the party is hopping, but the festivities come to a swift end when a member of the Grand Council of Witches is murdered. With the whole place on lock down, the coven is determined to find the cunning killer, even with an angry council and a real Spanish Inquisitor breathing down their necks…

My thoughts:
I love reading this series. Witches have always intrigued me and now involve them with a mystery makes for a good book to me. I enjoyed getting to hang out with Molly, Elsie and Olivia again. The ball sounds like it would be a lot of fun to got to that is without the murder. I have to say I did not like Drago he just seemed evil to me. Another thing I enjoyed was sitting in on the Witches' Council. This book not your normal para-cozy it was so much more. In fact I think this goes a little deeper than most cozy mysteries. This book was written by a great husband and wife writing team that we lost too soon. They passed away within six months of each other in 2015 and 2016. Their ability to wirte a story that grabs you from the first page and does not let go until the end. A great addition to this series.
