I’d like to give you a quick synopsis of Egg Drop Dead, my new Cackleberry Club Mystery that’s just been released in paperback:
When Suzanne Dietz, proprietor of the Cackleberry Club Café, stops by Mike Mullen’s dairy farm to pick up wheels of cheese, she’s greeted by the urgent, upturned faces of cows that haven’t been milked – and then finds Mike’s mangled body! Stunned by her grisly discovery, Suzanne vows to figure out who killed this mild-mannered farmer. As she juggles multiple suspects, a busy restaurant, tea parties, and a raucous Halloween celebration, Suzanne maintains her good humor, keeps her romance with the town doctor sizzling, and manages to solve this vicious murder.
As you’ve probably guessed, Suzanne is an amateur sleuth with the tenacity of a pit bull. She’s also a savvy entrepreneur who has a deep sense of justice. There are serious elements of danger in this story, too, and Suzanne’s life is threatened on several occasions. Egg Drop Dead Soup
2 cups Chicken Broth
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 Tbsp. soy sauce
2 eggs, beaten
2 small green onions, chopped finely
Salt and pepper to taste
In a saucepan, bring chicken broth, ground ginger, and soy sauce to a simmer. Slowly stream in the beaten eggs while stirring the soup in one direction. Add chopped green onions. Add salt and pepper to taste. Yields 4 servings.
