About the author
Tonya Kappes is a USA Today Bestselling Author.

I write fun humorous fiction, some with romance and some with a little mystery.

More than anything I love to connect with readers! I’m a huge fan of them and LOVE getting to know them. Making readers smile, and remembering not to take life too seriously is how I like to write. I’m addicted to coffee, McDonald’s Diet Coke, and Red Hots Candy to keep her going!

When I’m not writing about quirky characters and even quirkier situations, I’m busy being the princess, queen and jester of my domain which includes my BFF husband, three teenage boys, two dogs and one ornery cat.

Interview:
1. Who or what inspired you to start writing?
My husband! He realized my spending on books was higher than our weekly grocery bill for a family of six.

2. What do you do to help you get over writer's block?
I do not believe in writer's block. If I need help getting going, I will take a walk or start writing long hand. That usually gets the brain going.

3. Do you have scheduled writing time or a certain amount of words you write each day?
I write everyday starting at 5:30 a.m. I at least get 2-3k words a day on the page. They might not be the best words, but they are there.

4. When you are not writing what do you like to do?
I spend a lot of time with my family and fur babies.

5. What one piece of advice would you like to give to aspiring writers?
Write, write, and write. Plain and simple.

6. 5 interesting facts about yourself:
I played the piano for 13 years.
I use to be a child therapist.
I'm a lifetime member of Weight Watchers and still go every single week.
Chick-lit is still my favorite genre to read.
I'm a very loyal person.

  1. I do enjoy reading about magic (i.e. Happy Potter series) but I haven't really seen magic (except for magic tricks). I guess I only believe in magic when reading books or movies/television shows.

  7. I am a skeptic when it comes to magic, but I surely like to think it can exist. Plus I like some of the author's other work, and think this would be a fun series to get into.
