About the author:
Ani Gonzalez: I write paranormal romantic comedy and cozy mystery (whew, that’s a mouthful!) set in Banshee Creek, Virginia, The Most Haunted Town in the USA. My books feature feisty funny heroines dealing with a host of paranormal critters (ghosts, cryptids, pagan gods…the sky’s the limit) and mysteries. They find magic, love and laughter and readers get to follow them every step of the way.

I love quirky towns with spooky stories, and, thanks to my books, I get to “live” in one year-around. In real life I live in a Minneapolis suburb (which is sadly lacking in ghosts) with my husband and three children and I’m still trying to adjust to the cold.

Character Guest Post:
Hi, my name is Ani Gonzalez. I write paranormal romantic comedy and cozy mystery and A Holland Reads has kindly agreed to host the book tour for Fortune Favors the Witch, the second book in my Main Street Witches cozy mystery series.

Main Street Witches is a spin off of my haunted town romantic comedy series, Banshee Creek. Three witches head to America’s Most Haunted Town to open up business and find romance and mystery along the way. The series was inspired by my love of all things witchy (just like Banshee Creek arose out of my enthusiasm for all things haunted). The town is pretty much an independent character with lots of spooky shops and institutions (including a haunted library) to give you a taste of the town, here’s a transcript of the morning radio show, with special guest, fortune teller Luanne LaRue, the protagonist of Fortune Favors the Witch. Enjoy!

Official transcript of Monster Morning Mashup, WPRV’s daybreak radio show.

DJ: Good Morning, Banshee Creek! You’re tuned in to WPRV, The Country’s Most Haunted Radio Statio. Today is September 1st and, as always, we have our very own Luanne LaRue, a.k.a. Madame Esmeralda, with this week’s horoscope. Take it away, Luanne.

Luanne LaRue: Thanks, guys. This is going to be an interesting month with lots of action in Sagittarius. Jupiter’s in there kicking his boots off and making his royal self comfortable and that means there’s some serious partying up ahead.

DJ: Jupiter’s the king of the gods, isn’t he? He doesn’t strike me as the partying type.

Luanne: Well, you’d be wrong. Mr. High-And-Mighty was known for his love of travel and disguises—both often used in the pursuit of seduction.

DJ: Travel’s good, and Halloween’s just around the corner so that takes care of the disguises.

Luanne: This is very extreme travel. The kind that broadens the mind and opens up doors of knowledge. Life-altering travel.

DJ: That sounds…uncomfortable.

Luanne: It’s a lucky time. Unlikely things happen. Surprises occur. Visitors arrive.

Dj: Well, you know, here in Banshee Creek surprises can be bad. We don’t really need more unexpected crap coming our way.

Luanne: That’s not all. Mercury’s also doing its thing, rocking and rolling its way through Aquarius.

DJ: As in “Age of Aquarius”?

Luanne: As in metaphysical knowledge. As in an experience beyond all imagining. As in a visit that will change your life.

DJ: Does that mean my in-laws are coming?

Luanne: Saturn’s also hanging around the edges, adding a tinge of darkness.

DJ: That definitely sounds like my in-laws.

Luanne: The visitors bring greed and turmoil.

DJ: Yes, they do. They definitely do. Hold on a second, let me text my wife.

Luanne: You can’t escape fate, you know.

DJ (drily): I can try. And this seems like a good time for a music break. How about Bad Moon Rising? That seems like an appropriate choice.
