What did I think of this book:

First I have to say that I am sad that this series is now done. From the first book to this one they were all very enjoyable reads. I have enjoyed the journey that the author has taken us on from the beginning. As always the characters are very well developed and you feel as if you really do know them. The description of the scenes was also done very well - you feel as if you right along Penny's side as she goes through her journey. It was nice that Carrie used letters in this book. Since I write a lot of pen pal letters I always enjoy reading letters that others have written. I think it makes the story a little more personal. I can't not imagine being about from somone you love during a war but I know many do it and make it through it. It shows how strong of a person that Penny was. I think this book was a fitting end to this series. If you are looking for a great series to read I suggest that you pick this one especially if you are a fan of Downton Abbey you will enjoy this.
