Book description
A graphic novel adventure from the world of Erin Hunter’s #1 nationally bestselling Warriors series!

In the first book of the Tigerstar & Sasha manga arc, a kittypet named Sasha searches for a new home—and wonders if she might find it with ShadowClan and its leader, Tigerstar, during the events of the Warriors: The Prophecies Begin series.

When Sasha is forced to leave her kittypet home, she must forge a solitary new life in the forest. Life on her own is exciting at first but quickly gets lonely. Then Sasha meets Tigerstar, leader of ShadowClan, and wonders whether she would be better off joining the ranks of his forest Clan. But Tigerstar has many secrets, and Sasha isn’t sure she can trust him….

Meet the author - Erin Hunter
Erin Hunter is the pseudonym of five people: Kate Cary, Cherith Baldry, Tui T. Sutherland, Gillian Phillips, and Inbali Iserles, as well as editor Victoria Holmes. Together, they write the Warriors series as well as the Seekers and Survivors series. Erin Hunter is working on a new series now called Bravelands.

Erin Hunter is inspired by a love of cats and a fascination with the ferocity of the natural world. As well as having a great respect for nature in all its forms, Erin enjoys creating rich mythical explanations for animal behavior, shaped by her interest in astronomy and standing stones.

My thoughts
This was my first graphic novel and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. It was a little meatier than I thought it would be. I picked this one as I am doing a summer reading program and that was one of the challenges. This one caught my eye because of the cats and I am a cat lover. I liked how the author gave us a look about what happens to a house cat when it starts living outside as well as how outside cats think. I felt bad for Sasha and just wanted to take her in. I want to read the next book in this series to see what happens with Sasha and Tigerstar next.

But as things often do with the trio of smart and sassy sisters, they get themselves and their nanny Miss Julia involved in a lot more than just helping mom raise money for a worthy and wonderful cause.

My Thoughts:
This was a good addition to the Glimmer Girls series. It is fun to follow these girls on their adventures. This time they are in Music City and they are again looking for for a mystery to solve. Which then leads them to some tight spaces while trying to solve a mystery. I liked that they were trying to raise money for a good cause as well. This book is full of good values as well as fun adventures. I like how this book deals with real issues as well and tells girls how to handle them. Like when Maddie and Mia's friends don't want to come to their concert. I think this is a good book for your tween girl to read.

What did I think of this book:
This is a cute book for your tween readers to enjoy. Now I accidently got the second book first and had to go back and read this one. I recommend reading them in order. Just like the other book I enjoyed the relationship these sisters have and the fun the have together. It was nice because the author added some tidbits about London in this book so you got a sense of being there with the girls. One of the bigh things I liked is the mystery and how the girls work together to solve it. There is enough action to keep you tween girl interested in this story. All in all this is a good series for tweens. I am looking forward to sharing this with my niece.

Number of pages: 208
Genre: Tween, Mystery
Series: Glimmer Girls #2

Synopsis:
Join twins Mia and Maddie and their sidekick little sister, LuLu, as they travel the country finding adventure, mystery, and sometimes mischief along the way. Together with their famous mother, singer Gloria Glimmer, and their slightly wacky nanny Miss Twist, the sisters learn lessons about being good friends, telling the truth, and a whole lot more.

In A Dolphin Wish a three-night stop in the city of San Diego seems like it might be just the break the girls need—lovely weather and great sights to see. That is until they hear animal handlers at “Watery World” talking about the trouble they’ve been having keeping the animals in their habitats. Mia and her sisters cannot resist a challenge and they talk Miss Twist into another visit to the educational amusement park to search for clues as to what or who is helping the animals escape.

What did I think of this book:
What a cute series for your tween girls. I loved the mix of adventure, mystery and mischief these girls get themselves into. This is the second book in the series and I was good reading it as a standalone but I will be going back and getting the first book. I like that this story shows just how close sisters can be and all the fun they have. It is even more fun that this story revolves around animals as and adventure par,. Two things young girls seem to enjoy. I can't wait to send this book to my niece so she can enjoy it too.
