My thoughts
I really liked this book and thought it had a lot to offer. I liked all the websites it listed and that it gave descriptions of each and what type of information you could get from them. There are some hints that the author gave me to help get past some roadblocks I have. I also liked how the author used personal touches from his own family searches to show you how things worked. I will be going back to this book many times to help me in my own search for my ancestors.

In Little House in the Big Woods, Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote: “Now is now. It can never be a long time ago.” And in this timeless collection of quotes, readers can revisit their favorite moments from all nine original Little House books, alongside beautiful black-and-white illustrations.

Laura Ingalls Wilder’s beloved Little House series captured her childhood adventures growing up on the American frontier. This illustrated collection of thoughtful words and wisdom showcases her poignant wit and enduring spirit and is the perfect gift for any Little House fan.

My thoughts;
Being as big of a fan of Laura Ingalls Wilder as I am when I found there was a new book out about/by her I had to have it. One thing I did not do was to see how large this book was so I was a little disappointed when I picked it up. Of course the reason being is because I wanted a bigger book - not only in size but in pages. Now on to what I liked about the book. I thought the illustrations were very cute and added to the book. Then the sayings they picked were on point for me. A few really hit home for me. Here are a couple that I liked: A storm outdoors is no reason for gloom in the house - The Long Winter and If you don't want trouble don't go looking for it - On the Banks of Plum Creek. If you are a collector of all things Laura related then you should get this right away. Oh I almost forgot there is a short biography of Laura at the back of the book that I enjoyed reading as well - even if I did already know all about her.

About the author:
Laura Ingalls Wilder (1867–1957) was born in a log cabin in the Wisconsin woods. With her family, she pioneered throughout America’s heartland during the 1870s and 1880s, finally settling in Dakota Territory. She married Almanzo Wilder in 1885; their only daughter, Rose, was born the following year. The Wilders moved to Rocky Ridge Farm at Mansfield, Missouri, in 1894, where they established a permanent home. After years of farming, Laura wrote the first of her beloved Little House books in 1932. The nine Little House books are international classics. Her writings live on into the twenty-first century as America’s quintessential pioneer story.

What did I think of this book
It is always hard for me to write a review when I did not care for a book I read. I feel that I still need to give my honest opinion. The idea of writing for eight minutes a day is a good idea and a great way to get into the habit of writing. But this book to me almost a bunch of repetation. At the end of each of the eight days of writing challange the last paragraph is exactly the same. I am glad that I did not have to pay for this book and that it was free book. I truly hoped this book has helped others as I really wanted to get some ideas from it but unfortunately did not.

About the author:
Monica Leonelle started reading young adult books when she was seven and never managed to grow out of them. Now, she writes them from a lovely Chicago apartment she shares with an adorable little Westie named Mia and the formidable Han Solo, a scruffy looking nerf herder (who is not stuck up or half-witted in the slightest).

There are plenty of other things Monica hasn't grown out of, like ABCFamily, Forever 21, and dressing up on Halloween. She loves to hear from readers, so email her at monicaleonelle@gmail.com to talk about her books, or to just say hi.

Her books include the Waters Dark and Deep series and the Socialpunk Trilogy. In 2013, she also plans to release the Stars and Shadows series and the American Families series.
