This week's question - Blogging Question: How do you handle the writing of a negative review?
My answer: I don’t write a lot of negative reviews but once in awhile you can’t help it as you will come across a book you do not care for. When I have to write the negative review I try not to be harsh on the author as that book is their pride and joy. Just because I did not care for the book does not mean someone else will not love it. I point out what I did not care for and simply say this book was not meant for me or maybe I read it at the wrong time.
How do you handle this situation? I would love to hear your input.

Just stopping by from the Hop. Not seeing much genre overlap with my interests, but enjoy your thoughts, just the same. Have a great day!ReplyDelete
Thank you for stopping byDelete
I'm the same way! I try to explain why I don't like a book, because maybe somebody else doesn't mind the same things that I do.ReplyDelete
I agree with you. If we all liked the same things it would be a boring worldDelete
I too try to give an honest and balanced response as to why I didn't like the book. Mine is just one of a million opinions out there, thankfully...bc who would want to read a bunch of reviews that sounded exactly the same anyway.ReplyDelete
You are right our reviews are just one opinion out there.Delete
They are difficult to write and to inform authors. Stop by my blog for my answer if you like.ReplyDelete
