A Wilder Rose by Susan Wittig Albert

I received this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

A Wilder Rose by Susan Wittig Albert
Trade Paperback
ISBN: 9780989203500
Published: October 1, 2013

Synopsis: Based on Rose Wilder Lane's unpublished diaries and letters, A Wilder Rose tells the surprising true story of the often troubled collaboration that produced eight beloved novels of pioneer life -- a collaboration that Rose and her mother, Laura Ingalls Wilder, concealed from their agent, editors, reviewers and readers. In this impeccably researched novel, Susan Wittig Albert follows the clues that take us straight to the heart of this fascinating literary mystery.

My review: I jumped into this book with both feet running as I am one of the biggest Laura Ingalls Wilder and her whole life story. I have read a little about her daughter Rose I thought this would be a good way to find out more about her. After reading the book I am glad I read it and had a chance to learn about Rose's relationship with her mother. I think I had Rose (no pun intended) colored glasses on when it came to Laura so when I first started reading this I thought this can't be right but I know now that it is and not everything in life is perfect. This book gives you a view of what it was like back in the 1920s -- 1930s for one person and her view. I think if you are a fan of Laura's, Rose's or just want a very interesting book to read I suggest this book to you.
