Framed to Death by Christina Freeburn - Spotlight, Guest Post and Giveaway

Published: April 26, 2016
Number of pages: 268
Genre: Cozy Mystery
Series: Faith Hunter Scrap This Mystery #4

Synopsis:
Eden has turned into a hotspot of crime, and Faith finds herself smack dab in the middle of the flare-up. When a favor for a friend links Faith to the synthetic marijuana problem invading her town, no good deed goes unpunished becomes the title of her life. The town accuses the police of favoritism toward her, putting a strain between Faith and Ted, and a new officer is determined to prove Faith’s guilt.

When the criminal is outed, Faith’s relief is short-lived. A fire takes out the store—along with the suspected dealer—and she’s now number one on an officer’s suspect list. Faith sets out to prove her own innocence, and her digging sparks the truth to life. Instead of the truth setting the town free, Faith finds out it might destroy Eden, the friends she holds dear, and smother out her own life.

Related subjects include: cozy mysteries, women sleuths, murder mystery series, whodunit mysteries (whodunnit), amateur sleuth books, craft and hobby mysteries, small town mysteries, book club recommendations.

About the author:
The Faith Hunter Scrap This Mystery series brings together Christina Freeburn’s love of mysteries, scrapbooking, and West Virginia. When not writing or reading, she can be found in her scrapbook room or at a crop. Alas, none of the real-life crops have had a sexy male prosecutor or a handsome police officer attending.

Christina served in the JAG Corps of the US Army and also worked as a paralegal, librarian, and church secretary. She lives in West Virginia with her husband, children, a dog, and a rarely seen cat except by those who are afraid or allergic to felines.

The Book Without A Name
By Christina Freeburn
Guest Blog Post for A Holland Reads

I’ve found myself in a dilemma I’ve never had before—I can’t pick a title for my book. The title is usually the second thing I decide after I have the basics of the plot down. This time, I’ve almost completed the first draft of the story, and I still refer to it as Book Number 5. It’s like I fear naming it will ensure that some unforetold, horrible event will befall upon the creation. The book has gone through three names changes over the last six months or so: one of the names is “off the table” but the other two are still in a wrestling match, with a third contender trying to insert itself into the fray.
I really don’t think my editor would appreciate a book arriving with three different names. Kind of a choose your adventure story except just about the title--Masked to Death, Gilded to Death, or Layered to Death, depending on your preference. I’m sure that idea wouldn’t catch on because it would make buying, or finding the book in a library, difficult.
What am I to do? In less than month, this book will be sent off to the editor and it needs a name. Every time I settle on it, a thought pops into my head telling me the other option is actually much better. Masked works with the underlying theme, while Gilded would also work with the theme but I’m not sure it’s “mystery” enough, and it would also keep the titles in alphabetical order: Cropped (book 1), Designed (book 2), Embellished (book 3), Framed (book 4), then Gilded. I’m even thinking about having a pick the name of the fifth book contest. The story would love to be called something other than Scrap This Book Number 5.
